You shouldn't need a key. If you are installing Windows 10 or 11 you should have a Digital License.
To check activation status in Windows 10, select the Start button, and then select Settings > Update & Security and then select Activation . Your activation status will be listed next to Activation.
To check activation status in Windows 11, select the Start button, and then select Settings > System and then select Activation . Your activation status will be listed next to Activation.
In either case it should say this exactly," Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account" If it does not, then go to settings and at the top of the page Login to your Microsoft account and it will link your license to your account. Reboot. Then check activation status again.
If you've downloaded the Windows 10 installation Media from Microsoft - When it asks for a key click - I don't have a key. Proceed with the install. When Windows is installed make sure to login to your Microsoft account from settings so it activates the new installation. You can install any version of Windows 10 and 11 with a digital license.
If you still want the Key you can get it quickly:
Type “cmd” into the Windows 10 desktop search box and then right-click the command line result and select “run as administrator” from the context menu. Type this command at the prompt:
wmic path softwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey |
