I'd like to purchase a Beelink GT1 if I can run Linux on it easily.

This is what I would expect:
1: I download a Linux Image for a Micro-SD card.
2: I write the image to a Micro-SD card using my old PowerMac.
3: I move the Micro-SD card to the Beelink GT1 box and start the box.
4: The Beelink GT1 boots Linux from the Micro-SD card.

Can anyone tell me if the above is already possible to do ?

I currently have a CubieBoard2 running Linux, but I'd like something stronger; preferrably an Amlogic based device, because I understand that it's a lot easier to run Linux on those than Rockchip or Allwinner based boxes.

If you happen to be interested in running Linux on Beelink GT1, please feel free to drop a line here as well.

I've sent two other posts with links in them. It seems they are not being accepted for some reason.
So I'd like to send an update.
I've been on the Armbian forum, and it seems some of the members there (balbes150 and chocho) have started creating a Beelink GT1 configuration for bulding the kernel and image.
This does not mean that the image is ready. Nor does it mean that there are any drivers.
However, it means that at some point we might be lucky enough that Armbian will officially support Beelink GT1.

I've tried making a build on my Cubieboard2, however I could not build a complete image.
It seems, however, that the kernel may build alright on the Cubieboard2.
-In order to build Armbian, you're required to have a x64 machine and it seems it must run the build host as a virtual machine.

Once you've installed Linux, it should be easy for you to install whichever library you wish.
The problem with making a new distribution is mainly missing drivers.
-If you have to write them from scratch, then it'll take a while before the hardware can be supported.
(There's not much fun in having a box, which have no network drivers for instance - the box would be almost useless without network - almost).
