Hi! Pentium Silver Processor J5005 support Netflix in 4k / UHD. Can anyone confirm Netflix UHD 4K stream is working on their X45 or X55?

Thanks, but before I will make an order for X55 I need to know if Netflix UHD 4k is really working on it.

hi
The Gemini X's CPU can support 4k 60hz playback video, I can play 4k video smoothly on youtube. Netflix is not tested because it is paid software and can be played according to calculations.

It is not just 4K60P ability. Netflix requires proper HDCP 2.2 realisation on Gen8 processor.
And it is a combination of the drivers, windows updates and BIOS that makes it work.
Asrock has problems with Netflix UHD streaming until they updated their BIOS lately.
That is why I am asking if anyone has real success with X45/X55 + Netflix UHD 4K Stream.

Hi. On my X55 Netflix does not work in 4K. Only in HD.
I’m using the Netflix Windows 10 App.
According to Netflix you need Intel's 7th generation Core CPU or newer, or a NVIDIA GPU that meets these requirements.

So maybe it’s about the processor.
Still for me it works fine in HD.

FYI: YouTube works fine in 4K.

I was wondering the same thing about the X45 and HEVC. Is the HEVC in the driver or is it an add on?

Thanks, that was my concern.
Make sure you have Creators's update for Win10 and HEVC from Microsoft store.

J5005 itself is fine as Netflix 4K (not HDR) is working on Asrock ITX board with this processor.
But initially it did not work for them either, but they did something in the BIOS addressing this issue:

Hi UncT and DEhiCKA

I had had to download the HEVC from the Microsoft Store and I also have installed the latest Creator’s Update and Bios.
Still the Win 10 App is only in HD.
But when I just double checked on Edge Browser it shows the symbol of UltraHD 4K.
Not sure why it only would work in 4K in the Browser.
Anyway, at least this way it seems to work in 4K.
