Recently upgraded Kodi to version 17 and finally it doesn't crash every time I exit the program. But now I have another issue: at start it says every time that the Python Image Library add-on is incompatible with this version and it will be disabled and every time the OK button must be pressed to move on... Pretty annoying...
Any ideas how to fix this?

I tried SPMC once and didn't like it. I want to use Kodi, so I'm waiting for a solution for that and not interested in SPMC-fanboy replies.

SPMC is a fork of KODI where you can also :

-   Enable amlogic acceleration (without crashing). In KODI 17 as I know you are not able to use amlogic acceleration (this box has 912, so you are not using all its potential).

-   Using another skin you can make it look exactly as KODI.

-   You can have SPMC and KODI installed at the same time (and use whichever you like at any moment).

If you still want to use only KODI 17, than Good Luck.

Isn't SPMC is touch based ? I mean suitable for Tablet / Mobile not good for Keyboard / Mouse etc...Sorry for my ignorance.

Good To know SPMC and KODI can be installed at the same time.

If I uninstall SPMC - Is there any problem with KODI default installation (Here default meaning I kept KODI exactly same condition as came with the Box / Firmware - Only Add 3-4 extension of my own)

if you use the same skin there is no difference between SPMC an Kodi at the user level except the fact that SPMC works .. that an the icon. I have the mimic skin installed on both kodi 17 and SPMC 16.5.0 and in the menus they are 100% identical... I couldn't tell them apart... however it takes about 5 seconds to tell them apart during video playback.. because on kodi both the automatic frame rate sync and the amlogic codec don't work so the playback is choppier.

My vote too goes to SPMC! Its very good in video playback compared to Kodi.
In SPMC you can enable AmLogic Codec to get the full power out of the Amlogic S912 chip & also the auto frame rate works well too!
If you still hesitant, then use a kodi skin in SPMC and use it. You won't find a difference.

The Kodi 17 still in Beta version, there may be problematic errors for some users.
If you still want to use Kodi 17, then uninstall it first and "download the recent Beta version from their site" and install it.
Also visit their site to know about any upgrade is available for the Beta version.

Thanks for the all advice

  - Installed SPMC from the Google Play Store - Initial problem was the skin which is 're-touch' and once changed to default 'Confluence' everything work fine so far.

- Difference I find so far under Video Settings -> Acceleration
In Kodi from Factory Firmwaire 'amcodec' disabled

Kodi 16.1 Default

Kodi 16.1 Default

But for SPMC it is enabled

SPMC 16.5

SPMC 16.5

Also there is Kodi Audio Output -> Audio Output Device Grayed Out

Kodi Default - Audio Outout

Kodi Default - Audio Outout

But For SPMC it can be changed if there is more than one DAC + Amp available - Better Control

SPMC Audio Output

SPMC Audio Output

Else the Biggest diffrence is the Video Brightness - With Firmwire loaded default Kodi it is very very Dark but SPMC it is normal .
This is the most desired option for me....Thanks.
