I ordered a brand new Beelink EQ12 from Amazon Canada last week and it arrived a few days ago.
I was extremely surprised to discover that the version of Windows 11 Pro that was pre-installed was 21h2.
According to Microsoft :
- Windows 11, version 21H2 will reach end of servicing on October 10, 2023. This applies to the following editions released in October of 2021:
- Windows 11 Home, version 21H2
- Windows 11 Pro, version 21H2
- Windows 11 Pro for Workstations, version 21H2
- Windows 11 Pro Education, version 21H2
- These editions will no longer receive security updates after October 10, 2023. Customers who contact Microsoft Support after this date will be directed to update their device to the latest version of Windows 11 to remain supported.

I attempted to update to either 22H2, or better still 23H2, but Windows Update refused to do so.
In the end I had to revert to a full update using Windows 11 Installation Assistant.
I also noticed that Secure Boot was disabled in the BIOS.
Please could you explain why a system shipped at the end of 2023 is so out of date? |
