Hello!  I just set up my new SER6 Max to replace a cheaper Kamrui mini, and I'm having serious wifi speed issues.  Initially I was getting 3-4mbps download speeds, while the Mac and my phone both sitting on the same desk get 56-59mbps.  I tried the driver fix of changing to 802.11ac and that increased the average speed to 6-7mbps, but obviously this is not a fix.  Why is this so slow, and can it be improved?

OK, the solution to this problem, for anyone else reading, is to buy a $20 external USB adapter from Amazon.  I disabled the internal wifi adapter, plugged in the external wifi, and immediately my download speeds went from 6-7mbps to 80-90mbps.  I hate having to use a USB port to duplicate a feature I've already paid for, and it's disappointing that the SER6 is so range-limited compared to a prior Kamrui mini I had, which had no range problems at all in a similar mini form, but such is life.  External adapter is an easy quick fix.

Further testing shows it is a problem of reception range.  The wifi router is two rooms away.  When I turn my phone's hotspot on and connect to it instead, with the phone lying next to the SER6 Max, the SER6 Max can do 115mbps+ download speeds with no problem.  So, the driver and hardware are capable, but the SER6 seems to have no range at all unless it's sitting right next to the router.

Probably 20', or around 6 meters.  There is no option for moving the computer and router closer together though.

hello, 6 meters , it is a little bit far away, so the speed will be slower and signal is weak.

If the Wi-Fi signal strength is weak, consider using a Wi-Fi extender or mesh network to expand your network's coverage and improve signal strength in areas with poor reception.
