Same issues here as well.  Will NOT connect to 5GHZ wifi just 2.4.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times with Intel drivers and no luck.

So I solved the issue myself.  I Went into Advanced options for the card and selected "Channel Width for 5Gz" and it was selected for Auto.  I changed it to "20mhz Only" and it works now and connects to 5Ghz

However the speeds are not much better than 2.4Ghz where as they were close to 500Mbps on my old desktop I am getting like 125Mbps so I still have a usb TP Link branded 5Ghz antenna on order to test that

My TP Link Archer AC1300 Arrived today I did my first test and 380MBPS Download / 280MBPS Upload still MUCH Better than the inbuilt wireless card
