it turns out that the PPTs can indeed control the TDP of the APU. The 5800H wasn't able to get to 45W because it was getting too hot (91C) and it was thermally throttled. I ended up cranking up the fan PWN slope to get fan run faster, and I have been able to keep the temp < 87C with a power for the APU at 45W and the GFXCLK running at 2GHz constantly in gaming workloads. |
