Hello,
I'm having a problem with my Beelink SEI12 w/ 12th gen Intel 1235U CPU (16GB/500G model). I purchased a 2.5 inch 1TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD and connected it. In Windows, I'm not able to complete a performance benchmark normally, it takes an extremely long time. I also can't complete a Diagnostic Scan in normal time. Write speed of the drive in Windows is 1-3MB (!?) when the tests complete (should be ~530). In Linux, on the same PC (dual boot) I get ~280MB, which is also slow but at least seems stable. In Windows, the drive "hangs" when doing a benchmark at exactly 3% every time. Creating volumes, partitions, formatting takes an extremely long time in Windows.
Is there a setting in UEFI to make the 2.5 SSD port operate normally in Windows? Or maybe an updated UEFI or driver? I'm using version ALDER109 UEFI.
Things I've tried:
- Many UEFI settings - Configure SATA as "Solid State Drive" and "Hard Disk Drive", ISATA, Unknown, etc. Disabled all other SATA ports. Changed CPU to Turbo Performance. Various other settings, none worked.
- Downloaded the official SEI12 Drivers and updated all drivers - in Device Manager, everything looks normal
- Changed system time in UEFI, Windows, and Linux (corrected Linux RTC to use local)
- CHKDSK /f - no errors
- SFC /scannow - errors corrected, no errors since, didn't help
- REPLACED THE DRIVE with TWO OTHER *BRAND NEW* Samsung drives (3 total, exactly the same issue)
- Put the drives in other PCs and external enclosures and they operate normally - very fast, no issues
- SMART test shows CRC errors on all 3 drives - only in Windows on the SEI12. In other PCs the drives do not generate CRC errors
- Probably some other things I'm forgetting (I've done a lot)
I see a lot of Drive Warnings in Windows Event Viewer with all three drives, but there are no errors with the disk when scanned. (see pictures)
This feels like a bad SATA cable but there are no cables, could be the port on the board. I'm still within my return period but I wanted to check if there was a UEFI setting that I'm missing before I return the device. Also, since I've tried multiple drives, I can't imagine my lottery luck would draw three bad drives, especially considering they operate normally in other PCs. So I have to believe it's a setting, driver, or bad port (or other component) within the PC.
Let me know if any additional information is needed.
