Hi,
Anyone notice that compare to GTR5, the GTR6 missing the OC menu. So why we have to pay for an 6900hX? Why not buy the 6800hs pc?

Not much difference between the 45W R7s and R9.. Just 200Mhz more boost clock speed for the R9..

If you wanted a lower tier R7-6800H processor thinking it'd save you a few bucks, you'd have to pick it from another brand like the Morefine M600, but it's priced at a slightly higher premium! For comparison a barebone R7-6800H version is $549 (a $10 save to the GTR6900HX barebone), and for 32GB RAM + 512GB SSD it's $779 (a $10 increase to the GTR6900HX). The M600 R9-6900HX version is $899 ($130 more than than a GTR6900HX).

I think the reason to buy a HX cpu is to squeeze some more performance. In my case, I want to mod a mini PC base on Beelink GTR6 with the AXP90 copper cooler to run stable with 85W. Howerver, missing the Overclocking menu made the idea useless.

Installing higher TDP coolers on the Morefine S600 and M600 is possible because Morefine include the 75mmx75mm Intel 115x mounting holes in the motherboard. So you can install a Noctua NH-L9x65 like this guy did on the S600.

Or install the Thermalright AXP90 on the M600 using it's backplate.

Or a 240mm AIO like this guy did on the M600

Curious, how were you planning (if you were going to) to install an AXP90-X47 full copper in the GTR6?... using the stock heatsink attachment points? How is it achieved?!

BTW, BIOS overclocking the M600-6900HX is also not possible.. a common trait with all the 6900HX minis?! M600 does allow the TDP to be set at 54W in SMU CommonOptions - System Config.. which is all that you've got for running higher & longer sustained boost clocks if using a higher TDP cooler. Otherwise the stock turbo fan heatsink can't handle it very well at the 54W setting.

I use a custom CNC case. Still think about how to apply the AXP90 on GTR6. Thanks for interesting example on M600. Would be interesting experiment. However, missing OC menu is a pity.

Even if you could BIOS overclock these 6900HX APUs, it's not possible to mount an AXP90 cooler on the GTR6. Only on a Morefine is this possible by using the provided Intel 115X mount holes as shown on this M600. AZW/Beelink don't provide those holes!
