only stereo output on HDMI to AVR

I just replaced my Intel NUC computer in my TV room with an SEi8 (Intel died due to power failure spike).

Setup was pretty fast and easy, but when playing movies or any 5.1 source, like Netflix, on the computer, my AVR says it is stereo and I cannot get the subwoofer of other channels to play.  It worked fine ont he old computer. I have looked at all the settings and cannoit see any other settings to set the HDMI output.  Anyone able to help?

Maybe your machine doesn't support 5.1 source.
