USB-C PORT not working

I have had my GTR 5 3550H for 6 months now and recently had a SD card reader which uses a USB-C connection to the computer. When I use the USB-C port it does not show the SD card in file explorer. It looks like the port is dead. Is there some kind of proceedure to switch the USB-C port ON or is it truely dead. I thought it would be plug and play.

Hello, can you tell us how you connected the SD card to the USB-C? What type of converter are you using?

My problem was that the usb-c connector at the end of the interface cable was intermittent. Another cable worked fine. I went and bought a new replacement cable for the usb- c interface on the card reader and then everything worked fine.
