I don't know if the GTI is the same as a GTR in respect of the display port but It shouldn't need activating. Are you using an ACTIVE display port? I use "BENFEI Active DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter 4K, Compatible with PC,Laptops, Desktop, Tablets, or DisplayPort docking stations, Supporting Eyefinity for Multi-screen Gaming" from Amazon.
