USB A-A and power cord need to be plugged in at the same time, so that the device can be recognize ...

have tried the USB A-A and power connection together - same thing..... device not detected.
I think I have to accept this is just bricked and now a useless box of junk.

I have put it in a box and leaving until I have time to mess around with a serial console connection, but to be honest, this is now just a very expensive paperweight.

I will certainly not buy Bee-Link products again, as this is only a few months old, and as no recovery method works, I must assume it is a component failure.  I had hoped paying a little more would have guaranteed better quality, but sadly not true.

Thank you to everyone who tried to help me.

Best wishes,

@Mirthmantis I only used the .IMG  I extracted from the sd card zip file. I renamed the .IMG file to recovery.img and saved on my pc, plug sd card into sd card reader and insert into usb slot on pc, open Burn Card Maker, togggle the format option so its box is checked (do not uncheck any boxes) then select the recovery.img file and press Make.  Follow the prompts until it finishes. Now insert sd card into the GT king, now hold in the reset button and plug in power cord, hold the reser button until recovery screen appears then select recovery.img file to flash
