Ubuntu 18.04 overheating

Hi to all,

My beelink U55 arived today and I installed Ubuntu on it. The problem is that after about half an hour of use it shuts down due to overheating. The psensors app reports my cpu close to 90 degrees.

I installed TLP but it didn't help.

Is it a defective unit?

Please move back to windows and try to use it with full load. If it works fine on Windows then it has something to do with the linux installation. I assume the fan must not be working with linux installed.

Hi, I reinstalled windows and now I can hear the fan spinning and the temp is lower. After a few minutes of running, the fan stops completely and the temp rise again (>90 degrees) and the pc becomes sluggish and slow.

Is there maybe a firmware upgrade available that can solve this issue?

As per the I3-5005U specification the max temp. is 105C
But fan must keep running if the temp is at 90.

I might think it is a Firmware issue. Wait for Beelink team to share the Latest Bios if its possible and easy to flash on your device.
