A factory reset is one way to eliminate it being a software conflict somewhere in the system, without having to manually uninstall and clear caches for a bunch of apps individually. Basically it returns the box to a factory like state with whatever firmware is already on the box.
After you do a factory reset you should try streaming again before you install/custom configure any other apps.
Here's a little tip, if you find that Kodi takes too long to close or freezes when you are trying to exit then remove Navi-X. That seems to have fixed Kodi/SPMC hanging on exit for me.
Before factory reset it took ages for KODI to exit. Now exiting is fast.
I don't know why I installed navi-x, a haven't used it for months. EXodus meets all my requirements, I don't watch live TV so that one and only add-on is enough
