Hi, i bought a GT-King but the tv box dosn't recognazied the external hard disk (Samsung 550gb). i tried to initialize the hard disk with ntfs, fat32 and exfat format but nothing happen.

Furthermore, some times, when i insert the usb cable of the hard disk into the tv box port, it loses the wi-fi connection and then doesn't find the wi-fi saved networks.

Please, can someone give me an explanation?

thanks in advance

Andrea

Can your external hard drive work properly on other devices? What is the specific model of the hard disk? We haven't experienced this problem in our tests. Is your firmware upgraded to the latest version?

Sorry, i confused myself. the hard disk is this one http://www.atlantisland.it/pub/p ... DAxMi1TVTM0Mi1CMg==

it works on Macbook and on samsung tv.

first of all i upgraded the firmware to the last version but the problem persists.

i tried to install this app: https://play.google.com/store/ap ... s_ntfs_ro&hl=it
following the procedure that's at the moment is the only way i'm able to see the hard disk.

which is the best hdd format?

does this above linked program stable/easy worked??

keep in mind some ext.HDD's does not competible with some of other devices
such as mine HDD does not recognized by Samsung TV!!

Best format;it depend on your work!
I always prefer "NTFS"(for 500Gb and over capacity ext.HDDs and 64Gb and over Flash drives)
but some devices(especially TV Boxes) does not competible with NTFS !! even exFAT!!
so you have formated with FAT32!!

I'v been used GT-King(for a couple of months) and tried many ext.HDDs and Flash drives
NTFS and FAT32 etc., I havent got any issue and all worked well

++

Trick;if possible use yr PC and load all your contents to back-up from HDD and format again!!!
with firstly NTFS(erase all and make a clean re-load)and still if your HDD does not recognised
then make another all erase method and try exFAT and than FAT32(but this time with FAT32
as you know you shouldnt play over 4Gb files)
and if still does not work properly in any way than you have to buy a new HDD(1Tb)

let me inform whats happen because this an important issue!

Good luck
Bye++

Please try to connect the hard disk first and then boot, the default hard disk format will be fine.

another possibility!

some of ext.HDD consumes more power!
so in this respect those HDDs does not work properly with Boxes
such as especially if the Box has low Amper PSU!!!

Keep in mind;1/1,5A does not give you enough power(if you connected
1/2Tb ext.USB-HDD!!) even sometime 2A does not supported well!

Note;I always change my PSU with 5V/3Amper high Quality PSU!!
2Amper very limited!

My two ext.USB-HDDs are Toshiba Canvio and these HDDs consume more power
and with 1,5Amper does not powered up! even sometime 2A limited so I use 3Amper
