new unit cuts out after boot up

hi,
unit was working fine then while installing kodi it said it had to reboot but told me i had to unplug the unit
for 15 seconds, plug it back in then quit kodi using task manager (i think it said task manager). i plugged then
plugged back in it rebooted until the home screen then it looses connection to the tv but the blue light on the unit remains
on but unresponsive. tried resetting the unit but no change. is there an easy fix? help!
