Adapter GS1, no light.

I decided to give the GS1 another try, after storing it for a long time in the closet.
Unfortunately I couldn't find the power adapter anymore and tried another one with similar specs.
The adapter I have is 5V 2,5A, which should be fine, as the original one seems to be 5V, 2A.

I cannot remember if there is a light that lights up once the adapter is connected. But when I connect the adapter, nothing happens.
Should the GS1 box show a light once the power adapter is connected?
