Just bought a new SER8 and am having a couple of problems. THe major one is that I can't get my two screens working. The HDMI connection is fine. But as soon as I plug in the second screen with a DP connection, the HDMI screen blanks all of the desktop icons and nothing works. If I unplug the DP cable or just turn off that screen, everything starts working again on the HDMI screen.

The DP screen never turns on -- says there is no connection but there definitely is. Just paid for a new DP 1.4 cable in case that was the problem but it wasn't.

How do I get this setup working? I also have an audio problem but lets leave that for another day. Main problem is how to get two screens working.

Thanks.

hello, so when you only use the dp port to connect the screen, it work fine too, right?
For the audio issue, pls try to flash this driver:   https://mega.nz/file/3mRn2Zha#Gx ... TsD0HrnMoUxRfsoc3pQ
Have a nice day!

Thanks for the audio update -- the speakers work fine now.

Re the monitor: No, if I use the DP monitor alone, nothing appears. The screen has power -- its logo shows at start up and is displays "No signal". If I unplug the DP cable, the screen shows "Cable not connected" so there must be power and the display is active.

So the situation is still the same -- if I plug in the DP monitor, All the icons disappear from the HDMI monitor (the wallpaper remains but no icons).

To finish up this saga:

The problem has now been resolved. Not fixed, but resolved by forgetting about DisplayPort and instead using a USB-C to DVI-D cable. The screen is again working.

I am now assuming that the DP port on my monitor is screwed up since it will no longer work even with my previous computer which worked perfectly for years. How this has happened I have no idea. Can it be that trying a non-DP4 cable shorted the port or something? Can there be something wrong with the DP port in the SER8? I don't know and am unwilling to test it on a different monitor just in case.

Anyway, the monitor is working again. End of story.

OK. Thanks for your efforts

Here`s another solution , if you would like to try.
If the DP port is 1.4 Version, please buy an active DP1.4 to HMDI2.1 cable ,here is the reference :https://www.amazon.com/StarTech- ... tronics&sr=1-23
