I can see that the PC suggects support PXE boot by selecting the boot order via the BIOS. Is there any way to add PCE boot to the boot menu invoked by F7.

Currently it has only 2 options; UEFI OS and UEFI Shell.

BIOS: N95V106

I'm very sorry, we don't have such BIOS settings at the moment, but I will suggest it to our relevant staff.

I asked the relevant staff about your question. You can enable the PCE in Network Stack Configuration. After enable, the PCE startup will appear on the f7 boot page.

Ok, so I have enabled PXE (IPv4) boot in the Network Stack Configuration and saved the BIOS. There is still no sign of PXE in the F7 boot options.

I have not yet setup a PXE server for the network. Is it possible the menu  item will only appear if the DHCP server reports a valid PXE source?

[SOLVED] RE: EQ 12 PXE boot on F7

Edited by wheweldc at 2024-09-05 19:41

Progress!

Using the tried and trusted technique of blundering around, I discovered a new menu option under 'Advanced-> Compatibility_Support_Module_Configuration' called 'Option_ROM_execution'.

There is an entry for 'Network'. I changed this from 'Do not launch' to 'UEFI'.

Now when I reboot and hit F7, there are 8(!) new entries in UEFI boot list - 2 ports, HTTP/PXE, IPV4/IPV6

Selecting the first PXE option triggers the process to download the OS selection from iVentoy and I install from there.

It would be good if the tech guys at Beelink could confirm that this is the way to go and there are no unintended consequences?

Cheers.
