DisplayPort to HDMI

I am trying to connect the PC to a 2nd screenusing the DisplayPort, with a passive adapter to HDMI but I’m not getting anysignal through to the monitor.

I can’t test with a DisplayPort to DisplayPort monitor as Idon’t have one.  I have updated all graphics drivers and have restartedthe PC.

All I can think is that the DisplayPort isn’t compatiblewith passive adapters and an active adapter must be used.  

Anyone have any ideas as to whether this is accurate or what else I can try?
