I read this guide to setup automatic fan operation on the EQ12.  When my CPU is under a sustained high load, the core temps reach 80C but the CPU fan is only running around 3,800 RPM.  Full speed should be 5,500.  Why?

  1. <div>CPU Smart Fan Mode         = Automatic Mode
  2. Fan off temp linut        = 35
  3. Fan start temp limit      = 40
  4. Fan full speed temp limit = 75
  5. Fan start PWM             = 80
  6. PWM Slope setting         = 2 PWM</div>

My BIOS is N95V104 03/17/2023.  I tried resetting the BIOS to defaults, then modifying just the fan section but the CPU fun will still not hit max speeds. As I test, I set the fan mode to manual and was able to get the fan to run at full speed, so I know it can hit 5,500 RPM.  Linux kernel is 6.6.8.

This is the tutorial: https://mega.nz/#F!yuISGa4I!s1bQQajKwnsEdzjqq4nopQ
Then we could check if there is a updated bios file.

Looking forward to your reply so that we can help you better.

Is this the info you need?
  1. % dmesg | grep 'BIOS N'
  2. [  +0.000000] DMI: AZW EQ/EQ, BIOS N95V104 03/17/2023

OK.  I think there is a misunderstanding.  The reason the fan does not get up to speed because the sensors on the board that controls it, is not the same sensor that the coretemp reads.  See my post above.

sensors
it8613-isa-0a30
Adapter: ISA adapter
...
temp1:        +73.0°C  (low  = -128.0°C, high = +127.0°C)  sensor = thermistor
temp2:        +54.0°C  (low  = -128.0°C, high = +127.0°C)  sensor = thermistor
temp3:        +54.0°C  (low  = -128.0°C, high = +127.0°C)

coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Package id 0:  +79.0°C  (high = +105.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
Core 0:        +79.0°C  (high = +105.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
Core 1:        +79.0°C  (high = +105.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
Core 2:        +79.0°C  (high = +105.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
Core 3:        +79.0°C  (high = +105.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)

I believe that "ISA adapter's temp 1" is what you guys are using for temp sensors, not "Package ID" nor "Core 0-3".  It always reads lower than the real core temp.

What email would you like me to use?  When you said "new BIOS" do you mean that you have a new one that links to the CPU fan to the coretemp not the current sensor?
