I added a second SSD to my Mini S12 Pro and installed Ubuntu on it. I want to have dual boot for both Windows 11 and Ubuntu and if I boot from the second SSD, GNU Grub starts and I´ll get exaxtly that.
However, I can only boot from the second SSD after executing a restart from the BIOS. There is no way to change the general boot order within the BIOS so that the Mini S12 Pro always boots from the 2nd SSD as standard behaviour. At least I did not find a way to do that. There were options for USB drives, etc. but not for the 2nd SSD.

Do I miss anything here or is this not possible?

Thank you for your quick response.

But exactly this was my problem. The second SSD with its Ubuntu partition is simply not listed, so I cannot set it as first booting option. There is only a single SSD visible ("NVME:Windows Boot Manager (512 GB SSD)"), which is the one that uses Windows.

The second SSD is only listed in "Save & Exit" -> "Boot Override" as "ubuntu (512 GB SSD)". See attached image:

Hello there,

Update the boot menu: Boot into Windows, press Win + R to open the Run dialog box, type msconfig and hit Enter. In the System Configuration tool, select the “Boot” tab. Here, you should see the boot entries for Windows. Make sure that “Windows OS” is selected and click on the “Set as default” button. If you installed Ubuntu in UEFI mode, you may need to enable “Boot Manager” here.

Looking forward to your feedback so that we can help you better.

Unfortunately, this is not really what I was looking for.
First, it always takes me several attempts to get there, because somehow the Mini S12 does not always detect if F7 is pressed. And restarting the PC several times is quite time-consuming.
Second, I want to be able to start Ubuntu "headless" (without the Mini S12 Pro being connected to a keyboard, mouse, display, etc.). If no input is given, the Mini S12 Pro should always boot into Linux instead of Windows.

Is there really no other way to get a proper dual boot system? Do you have any idea why the BIOS does not detect and list the second SSD/Ubuntu as a booting option?

Hello, you can click on these three UEFIs to see if you can see your UBUNTU SSD? If you can see it, you can add your UBUNTU SSD to your Boot option, and then you can set your UBUNTU SSD as your first boot option.

Looking forward to your feedback so that we can help you better.
