GTR7 Goes into sleep mode? But OS does not appear to support it? If I leave my GTR7 alone, it goes to sleep, the power button flashes. But Windows 11 flate out reports that sleep mode is not supported? The only modes supported are S0 idle i.e. 'modern sleep', and hibernate. Notice the OS (Windows 11) does not believe the hardware supports sleep, only hibernate?
Power configuration reports modified S0 idle sleep support only...- >powercfg /a
- The following sleep states are available on this system:
- Standby (S0 Low Power Idle) Network Connected
- Hibernate
- Fast Startup
- The following sleep states are not available on this system:
- Standby (S1)
- The system firmware does not support this standby state.
- This standby state is disabled when S0 low power idle is supported.
- Standby (S2)
- The system firmware does not support this standby state.
- This standby state is disabled when S0 low power idle is supported.
- Standby (S3)
- The system firmware does not support this standby state.
- This standby state is disabled when S0 low power idle is supported.
- Hybrid Sleep
- Standby (S3) is not available.
- The hypervisor does not support this standby state.
Copy the Code Also, if I try to direct the system to sleep explicitly...
- >C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe powrprof.dll, SetSuspendState sleep
Copy the Code The actual result is the GTR7 hibernates!
Nevermind the fact, that when the GTR7 does this odd sleep thing, that I guess is ONLY at the bios/uEFI level? The active network connection is lost and never comes back. I have to disable then re-enable the NIC, for my network connectivity to be restored.
So what the heck is going on here, the OS was installed when I got the GTR7, other than a few pending updates from Microsoft, it is out of the box this way? I even tried enabling 'sleep' menu item via the registery:
- Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
- [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Start\HideSleep]
- "value"=dword:00000000
Copy the Code
But that did not work, so Windows 11 is confused about something.
