Hi, as you know, U59 series comes with intel AX101 wifi+bt card,
that is so cheap (6 usd), no driver other than ms windows series,
(probably for win 10 and 11 only), in near future i dont see any other
os's will support that card which is also bad in range and not
compatible with old routers (bad in g,n ... average in ac,ax ?).
it maybe okay for this card; running in windows, 5ghz connect to an ac router :)
The trial/error im making is because my main system is not windows.
its ubuntu and intel 1xx series have no ubuntu driver, (in near future probably they wont have.)
for ubuntu support we need 2xx/4xx intel wifi cards.
i know that AX210 (15 usd) have ubuntu kernel support (driver). including the bt.
But our U59 mb wifi slot support which wifi cards?
AX101 is a CNVio2 card, its okay, original one. so any CNVio2 card fits us.
AX210 is M.2 ngff card with Wi-Fi(PCIe), BT(USB), key A and key E, here key E works for us, i tried this card. ok.
AX411, CNVio2, 2.4ghz-5ghz-6ghz, bt 5.3
ac products;
ac-3165ngw with A-E key,
ac-92xx series
ac-72xx series with bt 4.0
but the older ones; mini pcie wont fit our mb slot, such as; intel 7260ac.
look to key A-E or CNVio2, they may work if mb slot accepts the card.
some problem may occur here; we may need to change the 2 anttennas with a longer and suitable
one for ax router connections,
as a result; i did not try ax capacity, i have no ax, 6 ghz router, but ac and n were ok for me. average - above average.
also bt quality was ok too.
windows 11; ubuntu 22.04 lts (gnome) and opensuse 15.5 leap (kde);
