I purchased a WD Black SN850X 2TB SSD (GEN 4 NVMe SSD).  I installed it into the empty NVMe slot and restarted the system. The new drive won't show up in Windows 11 Disk Management. What am I doing wrong?

The empty slot is intended for M.2  SATA III SSD, not NVMe (PCI bus).
The ones with two notches...
At least it is what appears reading the stickers in my GTR6

Get something like a SABRENT USB 3.2 Type C M.2 PCIe NVMe enclosure or a more expensive USB4 NVMe enclosure. It comes with free downloadable cloning software. Plug it in and clone your C drive. Swap NVMe drives. Now you have ~1.5GB more with 6000MB/s read/write. Then put the 500GB NVMe drive in the external enclosure for fast file storage/transfer (1000MB/s+ read/write). M.2 SATA is 750MB/s Max.

Later I am going to install a M.2 SATA III HD in my GTR6.
Should I change something in the BIOS (i.e. is there any parameter to be modifyed?) or just from Windows?
Thank you!

I respond to myself...
Piece of cake!
Open - install - close and start.
So simple.
Then you manage the new disk in Windows
