use a partition manager, so you can create an image of the original SSD with all the OS, save it to a external USB flash drive, install the new SSD and restore the image from the USB flash drive to the new drive.
I had use macrium installed in a bootable flash drive.
so start the PC from the bootable macrium app in it, clone the partition to the USB flash drive (it should has plenty of available room to copy the entire partition with the OS).
turn off the pc, put the new SSD, restar it again from the macrium bootable usb drive, use the option to restore a partition from an image file, choose the file you just create in the previous step, and your done.
Restart from the new drive. |
