I've been writing back and forth with Beelink about this problem with the 5560u not rebooting.  

Here is their latest response :


"thank you for your reply,
This problem is due to the defective motherboards we purchased.
Now we have taken urgent measures to rework and repair this batch of motherboards.
We will eliminate the motherboards that cannot be repaired.
We have also stopped production of this model.
For customers who encounter this problem,we will take all possible solutions to deal with it,
such as returning the goods to the Amazon warehouse.
Please re~turn it directly to the Amazon warehouse, and the Amazon platform will re~fund you"

Best bet, contact Beelink support right away and work with them to get replacements or refunds.

I don't yet know what arrangements they can make for those who's return windows have expired...

I will be contacting Amazon first thing Monday morning to find out how to deal with this and
will keep you up to date.

If you enjoy the computer, great. It has a great CPU and if it does what you want, great. But the SER5 5560U PC's have motherboard issues beyond just the restart issue. It does not mean you will notice or think they are problems. With that said, motherboards with defects may not offer longevity. If it only lasts 3 months was it worth $100 a month? Beelink sells better models and it may be worth it to explore that option.

Okay ... next step.

I just spoke with Amazon customer service and explained the situation to them.
They have said that an investigation will be launched and they will work out a way
to handle returns that are out of the normal 30 day window.

Best bet ... Contact Amazon Customer Service directly and discuss how to handle
each case individually.

Really ... just stop this.

As I've told you REPEATEDLY I am fully aware this was a defective product.
I was looking for a workaround until we got a proper solution.

There is now a solution to the problem.

Idblake thank you for your efforts. Even though I’ve not experienced the major issues others have to date knowing the manufacturer is saying the 5560U motherboards are defective I will initiate a return since I’m still in the window to do so by one week. I hate it because I really like this machine.

I am refunding mine too. I find it really annoying that Beelink still has them listed on Amazon.

From what I can figure out it's not ALL 5560u (SER motherboard) that have the problem ... it's just a high percentage.  You might be one of the lucky ones.

I know what you mean ... when these little guys are up an running they're suprisingly good computers... it's the not restarting thing that just messes it right up for me.

Now my problem is that I'm going to have to find a replacement...

They only found the problem 3 days ago ... give Amazon time to work it out.

Despite their reputation, Amazon does not generally sell known-defective products.

And finally .... I need to find replacements... Sooooo....

These SER5 5560u computers with the restart problem are using AZW motherboards model SER v.1.0 with bios  version FP655U504....

Now the question is which of the AMD based models do not have this problem?


The test is simple ...
Hook up your mini-pc with it's power supply.
Run the computer as usual then shut it down over night, with the power supply still active. (i.e. don't turn off the power bar)
The next morning start it up from the red button, like usual...
But as soon as it's at the login screen or desktop, do an immediate restart.
If it has the problem, about 3 out of 5 times it will start to restart, then just sit there at a black screen with the fan running and power light on.
To overcome the stall-out you will need to unplug the DC power from the back of the computer, wait about 30 seconds and plug it back in.
From there the computer will start up normally and it will even reboot properly until you shut it down over-night, again.
Then the cycle repeats.

I like these computers too. And I haven't encountered any problems other than the reboot issue. The most interesting thing is that I have the automatic timer function enabled and it starts without any problems. I really want the developers to fix it
