Will the SER5 do multi-channel audio in a home theatre setting?

If not, which models will?

Not a simple answer.... I have two and neither one would even do 5.1 out of the box. When I finally got 5.1 to work none of the Encoding would work. No Dolby, No DTS, No Spatial Sound - period.

When I bought them on Amazon their advertising clearly stated these were great for Home Theater, HDMI was supposed to be 2.1, USB-C was supposed to be 3rd Video. None of that was true and they have since changed their advertising. The second machine I received wasn't even new - it was a repackaged return. So my answer to your question is no. And if you want after sale support - that ain't gonna happen.

If you haven't tested it then why bother responding. I have tested it, it doesn't work. 5.1 without Encoding is no better than Stereo. All movies are encoded with either Dolby or DTS and these days so is Ultra HD Music so in order to enjoy 5.1 the Encoding needs to function. On these machines it does not.

Yeah we alrady had that discussion.

Lets see what everyone else has to say.  In particular I would like to hear from people who actually got it to work... and how they did it.

You and I are sitting in the comfort of our homes, chatting on this forum and anyone at Beelink could be doing the same thing. They have answered about 5 questions in the last 2 weeks and now they are on vacation. I am a Network Systems Engineer, retired from IBM. I have personally built thousands of computers during my career and serviced many more. I can solve most problems but the people who need to solve this problem are clueless and unhelpful. Beelink boasts 24/7 support on their Amazon listings but the fact is - these machines come with ZERO support and are always one BIOS setting away from overheating and becoming a $400 paperweight.
