M.2 SATA NVMe SSD not detected in BIOS - 2nd slot (GTR5)

I'm trying to install the second ssd in the GTR5 5900hx, but without success the BIOS doesn't recognize it, when I reverse it it works without problems, but never both together. Would there be any specific settings to perform in the BIOS?

The second slot is for SATA III and not NVME. The form factor for both disks in m.2-2280.
I just installed a SATA III and formatting now.

It can be confusing, I think they could do with a better FAQ section on the site, or at least become active on the forums to help customers out a bit. The systems are great, but I'm so disappointed with the lack of community support on here. Please apply pressure to Beelink to tidy up this forum.

In short, you cannot interchange slot #1 (M.2 NVMe SSD) and slot #2 (M.2 SSD). M.2 is the form factor (SSD drive on a chip about the size of a chewing gum). NVMe SSD is a SSD protocol which communicates directly with the PCIe controller to provide more speed etc... while SATA SSD is communicating through SATA connector).

The pin-out of M.2 NVMe SSD and M.2 SSD are not the same anyway... it gives the impression it fits.. just an impression!

Can anyone recommend any specific SSD brands & models that are compatible with the M.2 SATA3 2280 SSD storage slot ?

I've had a search and can only dig up a Western Digital Blue M.2 SATA SSD but I am not sure if it's compatible.
All the other brands only have NVMe SSDs. The SATA3 SSD seems to be a fast dying spec for the M.2 form factor !

The WD Blue M.2 SATA SSD has 2 keying notches.. The M.2 slot in the GTR5 has a single key.. Are SATA SSDs having 2 keying notches compatible with the GTR5 ?

Bee-link carried over the same old M.2 SATA3 slot for the GTR6 as well.. Why Bee-link ? Why carry over this old (and being phased out) SATA3 protocol for the M.2 storage slot in the new GTR6 6900HX ? It makes no sense !

The Morphine M600 6900HX Mini-PC comes with two M.2 NMVe 4.0 slots for Gen4 SSDs !
It also has USB4 !

If there is info that a given drive is SATA m.2 (and nothing that it is a NVMe) then this is the one out need.
The above WD Blue drive is OK.
Other models: Samsung 860 EVO, Transcend MTS400, HP also has such stuff in offer.

If there is a key in the drive, but not in the slot - this is usually not an issue. It must first fit physically, but this is just the first step. Then you have to mach sides on the logical level and thus cannot mix SATA and NVMe until specifically instructed by the manufacturer (Dell and other laptop vendors sometimes support both NVMe and SATA in one connector, but this is not guaranteed as you can see above. There is even specific info on the slot in Beelink.
