Wifi Upload Speed 2x Fast as Download

Like someone else posted, I also have the problem of download speed is one half upload speed. I have 4 desktops and two laptops. The GTR computer is the only one that does this. Using Deco x20 Mesh AX1800 Wifi 6.

THe upload speed on the GTR is about the same download speed I see on the other computers. On the GTR, the download speed is also roughly the same as the upload speed I see on the others also.

I have tried to swap the antenna wires and did have some gain in speed on both UP and Down, but still Upload is 2x as fast as download.

Please help, this is the slowest computer on the network.

The AMD/Mediatek RZ608 (Windows) or MT7921Ke (Linux) is a WiFi 6E device, therefore, unless proven otherwise, will not be able to take advantage of the benefits of the 6.0 GHz spectrum used by Wi-Fi 6E.

On my network at the office, I have two routers; (almost every machines are connected using ethernet cables anyway)... but I have tested the AMD/Mediatek RZ608 (and MT7921Ke on Zorin OS 16.2 Pro) on both (using my Beelink GTR5 5900HX). All tests were basic tests -- enable WiFi NIC device, connect to AX73, run Speedtest and same with AXE75

The AX73 is connecting well on both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz but the AMD/Mediatek RZ608 (MT7921Ke) is able to return ~half normal speed for download and normal speed for upload.

The AMD/Mediatek RZ608 (MT7921Ke) is returning "more than expected" speed on th AXE75. "More than expected" -> a bit faster than WiFi6 but more stable.

So you are seeing the same results? I just don't understand why upload is 2x download speed. I even swapped in an Intel Killer AX1675 (160mhz) and had the same results. Every other wifi conencted computer gets download as 2x upload. The AC connected ones between 550-570 download speed.

My GTR wont break 250 download.

My ISP is Videotron, Canada. The Internet Plan is 400/55 -> 400Mbps (upload) and 55Mbps (download).

As stated in my previous post, the AMD/Mediatek RZ608 WiFi 6E device, unless proven otherwise, will not be able to take advantage of the benefits of the 6.0 GHz spectrum used by Wi-Fi 6E... I should have added "unless it is connected to a capable WiFi-6E router not WiFi-6".

My first router is an AX5400 WiFi 6 Router)... capable of WiFi-6 (support only 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz). My second router is AXE5400 WiFi-6E router... capable of WiFi-6E (support 2.4GHz, 5.0GHz and 6.0GHz).

I have a 2nd machine which has a Realtek WiFi-6 (8832AU). This machine returns ~420MBps (download) and ~55MBps (upload).

Why the Mediatek RZ608, a WiFi-6E adapter performs slow on AC/AX routers? I first thought the antennas were criss-crossed but it's not the case... I went on to update drivers (latest version)... update BIOS (latest version)... checked power plan (all good)... low power output to the wifi card (no longer have the equipment to test it out).

I believe the thing giving expected speed is the arrival of the AXE5400 WiFi-6E router on my network!

If you find something else, please let me know.

the thing is that for me
checking the diagnostic on my gateway for my phone the gateway see this specs
802.11ac 2x2 WMM 40MHz 80MHz SGI20 SGI40 SGI80 AMPDU STBC LDPC TXBF AMSDU AMSDU_IN_AMPDU DB MU 11V_S 11K 11K_BRP 11K_BRA (and show a download link speed of 480Mbps)
and for my wifi card this specs
802.11ac 2x2 WMM 40MHz 80MHz SGI20 SGI40 SGI80 AMPDU STBC LDPC TXBF AMSDU AMSDU_IN_AMPDU 11V_S 11K 11K_BRP 11K_BRA (and show a download link speed of 148Mbps)

in comparison it seems to be missing DB and MU

after the changes I have made now for my wifi card I can see
802.11ac 2x2 WMM 40MHz 80MHz SGI20 SGI40 SGI80 AMPDU STBC LDPC TXBF AMSDU AMSDU_IN_AMPDU DB 11V_S 11K 11K_BRP 11K_BRA
wich means that the changes in router configuration have activate the DB (i think it' dual band) for wifi card

still be missing the MU and at this point I think is the only reason my phone is way too fast than my wifi card

This router supports AC and AX (WiFi-6) on 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz, not 6.0GHz (WiFi-6E). For some reasons, the AMD/Mediatek RZ608 WiFi-6E onboard card doesn't perform much better on WiFi-5 and WiFi-6 routers but seems okay on WiFi-6E router... WiFi-7 is coming soon too... I went to TP-Link web site to get the specs of your router and saw the upcoming event for WiFi-7... https://www.tp-link.com/ca/wifi7/event/ I'll check it out!

One thing is for sure... if your cell phone is faster than a network card... something is wrong!
