Samsung vs LG - GT1 issues

I've tested my GT1 on both a Samsung and an LG and just wanted to let you guys know what I found out.
I have two 4k entry level TV's
SAMSUNG 55KU6092
LG 55UH605v

On the LG:
almost no issues .. just kodi crashing if it's left running in the background and sometimes when you switch it on the box changes the language to chinese [?] but only if the HDMI CEC is turned on.

On the Samsung:
Dark playback issue in Kodi [can be fixed by playing a 4k video or by switching to HDR+ mode on the TV.]
Playback stutters  on movement scenes, on Kodi and all other video players - judder is much worse.
Red tint [not present if video is played differently - from mac via hdmi or from plex]
all in all the GT1 looks like a different piece of hardware when connected to the Samsung.

[Needles to say I've calibrated the TVs to look almost identical and the videos look the same if I play them directly via Plex]
