Do I need to enable/disable something in BIOS?  Samsung EVO 2.5 SSD installed and not recognized.

Thanks for any help.

Hi MCTX,

All should be fine with the BIOS already. Just make sure the new SSD drive is initialised in Windows 10/11...

Win+R -> diskmgmt.msc <enter> then look for your new drive and make sure it is initialised.  I hope it helps!

Thanks for the reply.  However, the disk is not recognized by Windows.  It is not in Disk Management.

How does the 2.5" SSD get power, through the included ribbon cable?  Or is there a second power cable required to power the drive?

Yes, using the "ribbon cable" L-Shape mSATA/SATA cable.

It's easy for the ribbon cable to get pulled out of the motherboard socket. I had that happen when I installed a 2.5 Seagate spinner.

I am trying to use a new MX500, but the disk is not recognized in Windows (diskmgmt) or in BIOS.
Any suggestion please?
