Hello,

I got my GTR5 a while ago and I wanted to add more storage to it.
When I connect an 2,5" HDD or SSD to the SATA connector the system freezes in the bootscreen (where you see the beelink logo and are supposed to be able to get into the BIOS or the bootmenu)

If I connect an SSD on the SATA M.2 port the system boots but the device will not show up in the BIOS or the OS
I tried enabling and disabling the SATA ports manually in the BIOS. Nothing works

So I thought maybe my SSD is the problem and I put it in the NVME slot.
It get's detected there.

When I put the included Kingston SSD into the SATA M.2 port it gets also not detected in the BIOS.

It is probably some BIOS Setting that I'm missing but I'm not sure which one.
I tried with everything on Default Settings, which should work, and I tried enabling the SATA ports manually in the BIOS.

How to fix my problem?

Hello there,

The item GTR5 have two slots, the default one is NVMe SSD, so the second slot can only support SATA SSD.
Is your Kingston SSD NVMe or SATA please ?

Yes they are both NVMe but both the ports in the GTR got the the NVMe pinout so it should still detect the ssd and just run it in sata mode. Right?

M.2 Sata has a different pinout

I've got the same issue - bought a WD Blue, but not detected in the second slot...... you'd think it would run in SATA mode, but it seems not...... here was me thinking I had a faulty brand new NVMe...... bummer.

did enabling SATA in the BIOS work for you?

Also, are you trying to add M.2/NVME SSD to the second lot OR is that SATA?
