    Hi,
I bought the GT-R Barebone because on website, Beelink said we could put 64GB (2x32 GB), but I doubt that now.
I used expensive RAM, slightly faster than requested to be sure it would work : Corsair Vengeance SODIMM 64GB (2x32GB) DDR4 2666MHz C18 - Black (RAM code : CMSX64GX4M2A2666C18)
But when I turn on the device, it does not even display the BIOS startup logo. Nothing is displayed on screen.
When I use cheap RAM (2x8 GB) 2400Mhz from an other cheap miniPC I have, it works perfectly.
Could someone tell me that the GHT-R Barebone (AMD Ryzen 5 3550H) really supports 64GB or not ?
Did Beelink make a mistake or is there a secret to make it work with 64GB ?
I am a Electronic Engineer so I know how to take care of RAM without destroying it with static electricity, so the problem is elsewhere.
    Thank you very much,
    Regards,

    Hello,

The RAM speed is set to auto,  can you change the ram speed according to your RAM sticks in BIOS.

I hope this should solve your problem also just try to install single 32Gb RAM and see if it boots.

    Good luck.

    Hello,

Thank you for trying to help me. But it did not help.

A 2666MHz RAM stick means it can run at any speed up to 2400MHz, so it should not be the problem, unless the computer is poorly designed.

I tried to install just a single 32Gb RAM and it still does not work. As I said before, I could not even access the BIOS menu with 1 or 2 32GB sticks inserted with default BIOS settings (with the CLR CMOS setting). But it works with one or 2 8GB sticks.

This is what I did after:
    - With 8GB RAM 2400MHz, I managed to access the bios so I could set the frequency to "1333" which corresponds to 2666Mhz.
After saving BIOS, I shut down the computer and put the 2 32 GB RAM sticks. I tried with 1 and then 2.
I can now access the BIOS, so I thought all my problems were resolved, but no. Now I can not boot on system, or USB KEY or anything. So I think this GT-R barebone DOES NOT support 32GB ram sticks even though it was advertised. Almost no documentation, also forcing us to use mega.nz for downloading the drivers, which is a shame. I think as a professionnal engineer (hardware and software) I think I am going to give a very bad review on this barebone after wasting a lot of money and time for nothing.

    Regards,
    Patrick.

    Hello,

Thank you for trying to help me. But it did not help.

Hello, you can choose RAM brands like Samsung and buy genuine 32G regular memory particles through regular channels. Third parties may not be able to guarantee compatibility

    Hi Beelink,

So you are saying that the GT-R Barebone (AMD Ryzen 5 3550H) really does support 64GB, and that the Corsair Vengeance SODIMM 64GB (2x32GB) DDR4 2666MHz I bought is not serious RAM ?

That was my only question. I spent 284,66 € on that RAM, I don't think that is cheap RAM. And I have built many computers in these last past 30 years and many recently with Corsair RAM. I was simply asking if, YES or NO, Beelink was sure that the Barebone supports 32 GB in each RAM slot ? And if yes, what are the conditions. I will remind you that there is no serious documentation delivered with the product. That is not Professional at all. If Beelink says it should work, that means the 2 Corsair RAM sticks are already broken from the beginning, and that I should return them and buy other memory sticks. If I do that for other 2x 32GB and that it does not work, I will surely be less patient towards Beelilnk, so please, Beelink should give me a simple and clear answer. If the GT-R only supports Samsung RAM, it must be written in the documentation, or else, it is up to Beelink to pay back. Thank you for your understanding.

    Regards,

    Patrick.

    Hello Patrick,

I think your RAM speed is higher than the one GTR can handle.

I found the details on wiki chips.
    Here > https://en.wikichip.org/wiki/amd/ryzen_5/3550h#Memory_controller

It can only support RAM upto 2400mhz while yours are 2666mhz which must be causing the system to not start at all.

I also found the same here > https://versus.com/en/amd-ryzen-5-3550h

Theoretically it should work but not all Ram and motherboards support such automatic compatibility. Can you try putting RAM to auto or force it to run at 2400mhz that's the only hope, else you might have to look for RAM with 2400mhz speed.

    Good luck.

I think it does not accept more than 32g.  Or just one 32gb module or two 16gb.  also more than 32gb, you were not going to notice that it goes faster.  With 16gb you have plenty

I'm running 32 gigs of 2666 MHz ram in mine. It runs fine. Running Crucial PC4-21300, CT2K16G4SFRA266.

I'm not sure what you'd use 64 gigs for. I put 64 gigs in my Ryzen 9 desktop and don't think I've come anywhere near using it all. I'd be surprised if I've ever used more than 32 gigs. Next workstation I build will have 32 gigs of ram.

People usually say "I do video editing" or whatever, but if you're using it for something weird, I think your CPU would bottleneck. It seems weird to run $300 worth of ram on a CPU that probably costs $200 or less.
