I have an older monitor that I would like to use as a second display with my GT-R Pro.My primary display uses one of the HDMI ports.

When I connect a DisplayPort-to-DVI cable, the monitor is not recognized.  I know the cable is reliable because it is used successfully from a laptop to the same monitor.

Is there a system-level or BIOS setting that is necessary to permit use of an "older technology" monitor (LG L2013P) ?

Can you connect your old monitor directly instead of using an adapter, or change the adapter to try, in fact, the compatibility of the adapter is not very good

The only "inputs" are DVI or VGA.  To me, DVI is more advanced and my preference.
I'm not using an adapter, just a single video cable with different end.  One end is a DisplayPort, the other DVI.
