1080p+ streaming

Hey all,

I am completly unable to watch any video in 1080p or above in Kodi. 720p is very smooth.
It's choppy and unwatchable, regardless of the source (torrent, stream etc).
I have hardward acceleration turned off as it causes a lot of instability.
Does this happen to everyone?

Also, the screen seems a bit dark to me. I've noticed many complained about this. Is there a fix?

Software decoding at 1080p is a little to much for this box, use the hardware decoding or accept 720p.

About the dark, just play a small 4k video, it seems to reset the dark to what it should be.

Yes we would like to have a non rooted version of the firmware, please :)

About dark screen or 1080p handling?

Maybe someone know how we can hide root? Some apps don't like it.
