Yes Windows License key is stored into the Windows registry which is of course in the firmware. However starting with Windows 10, once the hardware was activated online you shouldn't worry yourself about loosing the Windows 10 license key.
You can do a ' Reset this PC ' via Windows 10 Settings \ Update & Security \ Recovery screen, which lets you choose to keep your files or remove them, and then reinstalls Windows. Which is the preferred way, which I'll explain further.
On the bottom you have a hyperlink under ' More recovery options ', says ' Learn how to start afresh with a clean installation of Windows '. I never explored this feature, so choose this with caution because It removes OEM software, likely that which comes with drivers installations. Also uncertain if the drivers Beelinks uses for various components will remain, and they aren't natively included with Windows 10 installation. :P |
