Linux: acpi power button not functional

Hi,
I am having trouble using the power-button of my SII in linux. I tried ubuntu and am running gentoo right now.
The Power button will correctly register as /dev/input/event0 but no events are caught when I press it.
Is anybody here able to use the power-button to shutdown the device in linux?

Windows-Users: does the Power-Button shutdown windows? Is it a linux-problem then?
