the M.2 SSD for N50 question

Hi:

I just ordered a N50 and the 128GB SSD that it has does it come with TRIM and SMART functions? Alos what brand or model is so I can check its spec online?

Gemini N is not equipped with TRIM and SMART functions. For Alos, we don't have specific information about it.

what? Thats bad. why no TRIM? without TRIM an ssd health will be compromise and die sooner. TRIM function is vital for all SSDs.

Damn I wish I knew this sooner then I would not have ordered it. I am very disappointed. I may have to return the merchant when I receive it.

you people should allow TRIM function for SSD or use HDD instead.

I have N50 and I can say that TRIM and SMART are supported. Tested on Linux with:

hdparm -I /dev/sda
ATA device, with non-removable media
Model Number: SSD 128GB
Serial Number: 2018101201553
Firmware Revision: Q0707A
Commands/features:
Enabled Supported:
* SMART feature set
* Data Set Management TRIM supported (limit 8 blocks)

in the latest version of the bios, if you have smart. What you have to activate it. and in windows 10, it gives me that it has activated trim.
