Hi Beelink,

We need your help with this issue.
When using DTS passthrough audio (optical) on the Kodi (16 and 17), Minix XBMC, SPMC, the audio is working, but you have sound drops every 10 seconds.
This makes this optical audio passthrough unusable.

I already tried different settings on KODI and SPMC.
Already opened an issue on the SPMC GitHub, but i'm affraid that this is a issue with AMLogic SDK.

This is being seen in others S912.
For me this is the biggest bug on the Device, since the audio passthrough is broken and not usable.

Beelink, can you please test audio optical output with any DTS or Dolby Digital video?
Beelink, can you please check if AMlogic has a newer SDK for the S912?

NOTE: Using the local MediaPlayer (preinstalled) the DTS audio works with Optical passthrough.

Can you please help us fix this issue?

Same issue here, but it's not just with DTS, also affects Dolby Digital sources.  Same when Kodi is set to transcode to AC3.

Have also tried many different combinations of settings in both Kodi and SPMC.

Hi,

Sorry i dont think this is regarding any License.

I have a s905 non H and the DTS works fine. This is a passthroug mode, were the processing is done externally. If you had licenses you could do it internally.

I just want that the box sents the signal to the external amplifier for processing. Just that.
In the S905 version we had issues too at the beggining were AMLogic solved with newer SDK.

For me this is important were any Optical Output is broken right now.
So if we have an Optical output is for us not to use it? Dont make logic.

@Beelink can you please simulate this behaviour in your tests? We know that this should be an AMlogic issue, but wanted your help to send this information to AMlogic.

Thanks
Best Regards

Same problem !

I use the TV box connected to my A/V receiver because I have a home-teather 5.1 channels, so I enable passthrough output for AC3 and DTS signals.
The audio is choppy and therefore inaudible.
The problem exists both using the HDMI output, both using the SPDIF output.
I tried to connect the TV box to two different  A/V receivers but the problem is the same.

The fault is serious because it makes me unusable tv box for my needs (I've also updated the firmware to the latest version, but nothing has changed).

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards

I also have the issue of passthrough DD or DTS encoded audio hiccuping every few seconds when playing though SPDIF to my AV amp. I updated the system to MHC19J.20160902.145523 but it made no difference.
(Apologies for not adding much diagnostic info, but I can't see how to subscribe to threads!)

I also had an issue of encoded audio coming through my TV audio (via HDMI) as white noise or distortion, but I managed to mute this by changing the android setting Sounds > Digital Sounds device from to SPDIF. Normally this isn't an issue on PCs as Kodi can configure different passthrough settings for different audio outputs, but android only appears to have one fixed output device "android, audiotrack". Obviously this is a bit of a pain if I want to change audio output to the TV as I have to reconfigure Kodi and android.
