Just wanted to give an update on my system status. Since I had a good experience with the Windows 10 Update Assistant when it automatically installed the 1709 update (instead of me trying again and again to get the update using the regular Windows update procedure), I thought I would take a chance and get the 1803 update a bit early using this method before the general rollout May 8. Well, it was a success! Windows 10 April 2018 Update successfully installed and everything went very smoothly. Once the download started it did everything automatically from the download to the install and system restarts. I think the whole process took less than 3 hours. I was really pleasantly surprised. Now have Version 1803 OS Build 17134.1.
Everything is running well and stable, no slowdowns and my Tidal streaming is still great. After the install I did a diskcleanup/clean system files routine to get rid of the old Windows installation and I actually have about a GB of extra space on my 64GB drive vs. 1709. I now have a little over 33GB spare vs 32GB before. With 1803 there are several more areas you have to check in system settings to turn on or off so that's one area you want to be careful with. Anyway, just wanted to pass that on that 1803 is working in my M1. |
