Hi,

I am using SPMC on my GT1 box. It streams 4k movies perfectly (X-Men: Apocalypse 65GB 7.1 dts)  after you tweak some advanced network settings. Unfortunetly, it is only outputing 5.1 Dolby but it recognizes the file as 7.1 DTS. Can anyone offer any help?

brtw, Don't even bother trying to use Kodi with an Amlogic product. No hardware acceleration. SPC is the only way to go. I don't even undersatnd why BeeLink bundles it. I could never get a 4K movie to stream properly with it on ANY version of Kodi

No luck but thanks for the suggestion.

It actually makes it worse for me. My Onkyo receiver only gets a stereo signal when I disable passthrough. I tried changing the speaker configuration to 7.1 from 2 but that made no difference.

Are there other setting I need to be changing to make your suggestion work?

This is a common complaint. In the Kodi forum it says this... "DTS and DTS-HD are officially Marshmallow only", so you will likely need to load Kodi 17.1 to get 7.1 working (if you can, personally, I haven't had any luck with loading Marshmallow on my GT1). Regardless, even then, it still may not work in your setup.

I meant Jarvis, not Krypton, sorry. Kodi 16 is called jarvis.

And... I meant Krypton, not Marshmallow. I wish they would get off of the names and just use the numbers. The names are confusing. Also, I wish the forum would allow the editing of posts (like every other forum on the planet).

lol, I know! What's with the no editing. Look at the stupid title of my post "SPMC & 7.1 sound outout" :(

btw, I got Krypton working fine on mt GT1 but it is terrible!! All Amlogic hardware support has been pulled. Slow as molasses. Large 4k file playback impossible and it STILL has no  7.1 sound output. SPMC plays smooth as silk but its limited to Dolby/DTS 5.1 WITHOUT TrueHD or HD support

Your experience with 7.1 is not unique. There are many, MANY people complaining about this all over the net. Unfortunately, we are going to have to figure out how to make Kodi 17 work properly or soon we will not be able to use any of the content add-ons.
IMO the Kodi team is trying very hard to eliminate (or greatly discourage) the production and sale of inexpensive IPTV boxes like these, they HATE them!
If they want to sell them, IMO the IPTV box manufacturers are going to have to design their hardware to be virtually identical to what comes in smartphones and install an unmodified version of the Android OS identical to what the smartphones come with to prevent the Kodi team from defeating them. The problem with this approach is that the Android and Kodi developers are not at-all concerned about supporting 7.1 or HDMI, this leaves the IPTV box manufacturers completely on-their-own to develop support for their boxes in these areas (with mixed or poor results).

Hello,

I have the same problem with Kodi 17.1 Krypton. And no DTS output, in this case it's impossible to stream video file.
Any solution ?
