Hi, I am getting the GT King Pro, i previously had an EBox T8-V box which is pretty old now and runs android 7.
Oddly enough the GUI on the King Pro looks exactly the same as my old box, which probably isn't a good thing as that does look pretty old and dated now, not sure why they would be using the same GUI or launcher as they aren't the same company.

I read that its a good idea to put something like ATV launcher on it to make it feel a bit more modern, would people recommend that?

I also read that it doesn't contain the full play store and only contains a few apps, is that correct or does it have the full store?

Will this box ever get updated to android 10 does anyone know?

If there is anything else you think thats worth me knowing please let me know.

Thanks

James

Sorry, the answer I gave you may not satisfy you

We do not provide the ATV system ourselves, but other users have made the relevant firmware

And our system cannot support Android 10.

I would recommend the Shield Pro instead. Add a TP-Link UM700(UN) VER3 for more USB3 ports. Add a good quality external SSD, different remote like an MX-3, bluetooth keyboard.
That will give you an awesome powerhouse with regular updates for 7-10 YEARS.. maybe for a lifetime.
FYI: True android TV boxes have a limited number of apps available from playstore. Most do use the same layout ( give or take ) for the gui.  Also be aware that very FEW boxes are approved for FULL 4K in youtube, amazom prime, netflix, etc ... The SHIELD is one that is !

Hi Beelink,

And our system cannot support Android 10.

Just curious is there a particularly reason why Beelink GT King Pro cannot support Android 10?  Can it support Android 11? Any plan to upgrade to Android 11?

Gt king pro is one of the fastest tv box for a very cheap price.   You can flash atv developed for gt king pro but that's from community developers.  I think it's best device for the money.

The GT King Pro may be the fastest tv box but if its not well supported over the years and the software and firmware is not kept updated and developed it can be next to useless. Speed is only part of the equation the box must be well supported which the Beelink is not.

So far my experience with GT King Pro as a Android TV Box had been positive eventhough once I had firmware update issue but ultimately resolved. GT King Pro streams video well but of course there are wish list for Netflix at FHD/4K and Android 11, etc.

To me, a plus point for this box is it can run Linux - Manjaro, Armbian and Debian/Ubuntu.
