Hi, I know that spec says only 8 GB Ram is supported but has anyone tried 16 GB anyway?

I installed a 16GB module from Newegg.  Works great.  It's a Crucial Technology DDRL PC3-12800 (800 MHz).

FYI, I followed these steps with my U57, ordered the exact same Crucial memory. But it didn't work. When the new 16GB RAM is installed in place of the 8GB, the PC doesn't even boot. I tested the RAM in my spare laptop, and it worked fine, the laptop recognized it on boot. Not so with the Beelink U57. I wonder if something changed on the U57 between August 2021, and June 2023. The Beelink website still shows the U57 will support 16GB.
