Exactly! For some reason the original BIOS does NOT offer a power-restore option. If power-restore was always a BIOS option, the consumer could turn it on or off at will.

Not being a Windows PC expert, I finally got up the courage to install EC 2.03 (auto). I followed the EC install movie, but my BIOS wasn't seeing my flash drive (D:). I reformatted the flash drive to NTFS instead of FAT and the BIOS saw my flash drive and I was able to complete EC 2.03 install. I tested my PC and am VERY happy to report that it now turns itself on after a power failure. As I mentioned in my original posting, the PC may run unattended for weeks, and therefore MUST reboot on its own in the event of a power failure. Thanks again for your support.

Can someone point me to the ec file for gti i5 8th gen please?

Just to update the thread.

Users have to email to support to get he correct EC as flashing the wrong ec will cause the device to not POST any more.
Please share the screenshot of the serial number to the support email and they while the right ec link along with the video tutorial on how to flash.
