Hi Spikerguy & Darkstar,

Seek some advise on how to get Vim3-Ubuntu-Focal-5.10-rc6 to boot on GT King Pro.  The usual method of deleting the dtb.img and replace it with "meson-g12b-gtking-pro.dtb" (that came with VIM3-5.10-rc6) and rename it as dtb.img.  Boot to "Beelink Logo" and Freeze.
The VIM3-Ubuntu-Focal-5.10-rc6 still uses the older "boot.ini" and "env.txt", is there a way to convert the boot to use extlinux and u-boot.ext method?

Someone (maybe chewit from librelec or kernel developers) updated device tree for gt king devices.
New dtb is better than previous one,  I think this fixed kernel panic on gt king devices not u-boot.ext.

Previous dtb was 49-50 KB, the last one is over than 70KB.

I don't have free time at the moment.
I will build mainline Ubuntu&Debian images  when I have some free time.

Yes it is possible to use u-boot.ext for ubuntu&debian, just need to edit some files under /boot partition.

Hi Darkstar,

Great work.  From what I understand from Spikerguy & Strit of Manjaro, the mainline kernel in Manjaro linux 5.9.12-3 and patch for sound has been resolved.  I am using linux 5.10.5-3 and no sound issue.
Hope you resolve the sound problem.  Good video performance too.   Look forward to your new build to be released.

Hi Darkstar,

Per my experience on Armbian-Focal-5.9.0, using the wrong gtking-pro.dtb even with the new u-boot causes "freeze" (that dtb dated 02 Sep 2020 72.7KB) and using the newer dtb dated 12 Dec 2020 with the new u-boot NO freeze.  But using the new 12 Dec 2020 dtb with older u-boot, "freeze".

But the funny thing is with the dtb that causes "freeze" in Armbian, using it with Manjaro and new u-boot I can't remember having issue, tested it with the usual routine that causes Kernel Panic.

Great, good performance even with KDE.  Using the latest KDE and Panfrost activated, I supposed.

Previously, with VIM3-Debian Buster I had the sound problem.  It was due to the pusleaudio config file(usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/profile-sets/default.conf) in the Debian_Buster_image was incorrect and default to "Analog Mono" which causes the sound to stutter or sounded like playback at incorrect speed.   By changing or copying the pulseaudio default.conf file from Ubuntu_20.04_image over, all works.

Hope you find a solution to resolve the sound problem.

Out of topic, somehow in Armbian Bullseyes with mesa-20.3.2 kernel 5.9.- or 5.9.14 and Armbian Focal with kernel 5.9.0 or 5.9.14 with the latest mesa-git (dated Jan 2021, I think) don't seem to be able to have Panfrost "Enabled" according to glxinfo still software rendering.
OpenGL renderer string: llvmpipe (LLVM 11.0.1, 128 bits)
OpenGL core profile version string: 4.5 (Core Profile) Mesa 21.1.0-devel (git-bfe5ac8 2021-01-15 focal-oibaf-ppa)

Any suggestions?

I don't have free time these days, pulseaudio service doesn't work properly.
I tried many things but still no sound fix for mainline.

@darkstar
Read this on https://forum.khadas.com/t/anyone-has-tried-out-the-5-10-rcx-kernel-yet/10272, on how Spikerguy managed to get sound on mainline kernel.  Hope it is useful.

Yes seems to work fine after using khadas config so I assume we have been missing CONFIG_RESET_MESON_AUDIO_ARB

Recompiling our linux-rc with our config and with CONFIG_RESET_MESON_AUDIO_AR enabled.

Update: Yes CONFIG_RESET_MESON_AUDIO_AR was missing for us since long time. Finally I have audio on mainline kernels
