I do not know if these are the information you request.
Bios is VB 1004 10/06/2020
SMBIOS: 3.0

Paolo, could you also check your "EC version"?
Attached you'll find a photo of my current BIOS and EC version.

Paolo,
When I got my U57 - without any update - I had EXACTLY the same versions as you have:
BIOS VB1 0.04 x64, EC 0.002 [12/10/2018]

So... you should also see the same bad fan behavior as we all see.
If you fan is not spinning up/down but is rather constant and pretty silent I would expect it's a faulty unit.

Could you please check and e.g. try an online CPU stress test like that one:
https://silver.urih.com/
Let's see if your fan starts going crazy.

[NOTE: my EC version 0.008 is an update I got from Beelink.
BUT IT DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE - instead, they just set the fan to be constantly turning full-speed.
So I would NOT recommend updating to that version.]

BR, Chris

I am sorry Chrisf,
but I will not do the test. During these days I had a lot of failures in my home, the last was the tap of the kitchen and I have fixed it today. I am really exhausted of failures.
Anyway the fan noise is not constant but it increases when I request much power to the PC, so I suppose it is not a faulty unit. Now I am just writing and the core temperatures are all:  33 - 34 °C. I opened Word, the fan increased and now I had 36 °C decreasing to 34°C.

Paolo, don't worry, no problem - you do not need to do the test any more, because your answer
"opening Word, fan increases, ..." was enough for me to be pretty sure you have the same bad fan behavior, maybe not as bad as others, but still.
The fan speed should not increase just by opening Word if temp is around 35 degrees C.
Well, the annoying thing for me was actually that the fan speed kind of "jumps" up and down.
Thanks for your quick reply!
I wish you all the best in fixing your stuff!

Thank you for your understanding.
Perhaps in my case the problem is not so big because I put U57 on my desk witout anything around which could influence the air flow. I was afraid of this problem, as U57 is so small and compact, so I did not dare putting if under the desk.
