No Surround Sound

I posted this before but now it's gone.

When I play video file using VLC I cannot get DTS surround sound on my receiver. Can anyone help me?

Update:

After playing around with Kodi setting, DTS & DD 5.1 is playing nicely..still can't get VLC or other media player to play surround sound though. This box is making me fall in love with it all over again..

One more thing..what is the latest firmware version for this box?

Mine is build 116N0.

Sorry, GTmini-A does not support Dolby or DTS. There is no firmware update.

My TV is connected to my receiver using Optical Digital Cable..if Digital Output passthrough is enabled in VLC, it should send the digital sound directly to my receiver which can play DTS sound..right? Can someone share how they set up the box for optimal experience?

You don't get sound at all? I also had some issues with VLC so maybe you should try another media player like Kodi, or even MX player or Archos

I do get sound but only stereo, but the video that I have is DTS..when I use the same setup with a different box, it plays DTS just fine..unfortunately it's not powerful enough and the video is jerky as hell..GTMini-A is a very powerful but I haven't figured out how to get the best out of it..

Ok..so it's clarified that this box does not support DTS or Dolby..which 5.1 surround sound that is supported then?

One more thing..can anyone help me on how to set up audio passthrough on the Gtmini-a..I can't find the settings for it.

Ok..after trial and error..it seems this box only support AC3 5.1 sound..

It does not support Dolby 5.1, DTS or FLAC 5.1..just thought I'd share that info with everyone..
